Waiver Wired: Week 18 Fantasy Football Pickups (The Final Countdown)

I am on record as an advocate for fantasy championships determined in Week #17, not Week #18. There is too much to chance. Many teams are benching their players. There are leagues out there that run through Week #18, and with that in mind, we are here for you.

QUARTERBACKS

Trey Lance, San Francisco at Los Angeles Rams: Trey Lance was likely picked up by savvy managers last week. Check out your waiver wire, just in case. Lance gave us a taste of his skill set against the Texans on Sunday.

Gardner Minshew, Philadelphia vs. Dallas: I guess that the Eagles rest Jalen Hurts, and his ankle was troublesome at times this season. Gardner Minshew looked great in his one start this season.

Sam Darnold, Carolina at Tampa Bay: Sam Darnold seems to have reclaimed the top spot at the quarterback position for the Carolina Panthers. Many teams have abandoned the run against Tampa. Darnold and the Panthers could have the same approach.

Jordan Love, Green Bay at Detroit: Jordan Love will likely start with Aaron Rodgers resting his injured toe. It will take guts, but Love could be productive against a Lions defense waiting for the season to end.

RUNNING BACKS

Le’Veon Bell, Tampa Bay vs. Carolina: No Leonard Fournette. No Ronald Jones II. Lev Bell remains the only healthy back for the Buccaneers remaining.

Corey Clement, Dallas at Philadelphia: I imagine that the Dallas Cowboys will rest Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard to get healthy before the playoffs. Corey Clement will have the full-down workload if this is the case.

Patrick Taylor, Green Bay at Detroit: I would imagine the Packers rest Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Patrick Taylor should receive a ton of work against a beatable Lions defense.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Braxton Berrios, New York Jets at Buffalo: Braxton Berrios lit it up last week against the Buccaneers. The Jets will be chasing points in this one. The game script is ideal for another Berrios breakout.

Zay Jones, Las Vegas vs. Los Angeles Chargers: We weren’t sure about Zay Jones coming into Week #17. Jones continued his solid play for the Raiders and has a defined role in the offense. The Raiders are in a ‘win and in’ situation where they rely on their top playmakers.

Cyril Grayson, Tampa Bay vs. Carolina: No Chris Godwin. No Antonio Brown. The Buccaneers are searching for wide receiver help. Cyril Grayson has emerged out of nowhere but is worth a pickup.
