NEW YORK JETS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-10.5) (O/U 44.5)
Mike White and the New York Jets bring their show on the road to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. The Jets shocked the football world a week ago by upsetting the Bengals. What will they have in store for an encore? I am expecting the Indianapolis Colts, at home, to roll the Jets. The Colts have been playing well as of late, and I don’t believe the Jets have enough defense to slow down Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr.
PREDICTION: COLTS 31 JETS 17 (2 UNITS)
CLEVELAND BROWNS at CINCINNATI BENGALS (-2.5) (O/U 45.5)
Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in the Battle for Ohio. The vibes resonating out of Cleveland with the Odell Beckham Jr. melodrama are nauseating. I like the Bengals here to bounce back in a high-scoring affair.
BENGALS 27 BROWNS 24 (2 UNITS)
DENVER BRONCOS at DALLAS COWBOYS (-7) (O/U 48.5)
We are expecting the return of Dak Prescott in this one. The Denver Broncos have been a team in limbo as of late. The Cowboys appear to be on a mission.
PREDICTION: COWBOYS 31 BRONCOS 21 (3 UNITS)
HOUSTON TEXANS at MIAMI DOLPHINS (-6.5) (O/U 45)
The Texans/Dolphins game would have been more intriguing had the Texans dealt Deshaun Watson to the Dolphins. Alas, we have a Tyrod Taylor/Tua Tagovailoa match-up. Have no fear this game could turn into a sneaky shoot-out.
PREDICTION: DOLPHINS 34 TEXANS 24 (1 UNIT)
ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-5) (O/U 42.5)
With the injury to Jameis Winston, we will get Taysom Hill under center for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints played conservatively a season ago while Tayson Hill was the quarterback. I believe the Saints run the ball well and play solid defense in an old-fashioned home victory.
PREDICTION: SAINTS 23 FALCONS 16 (2 UNITS)
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (-2.5) at NEW YORK GIANTS (O/U 48)
I love the Las Vegas Raiders off of their bye in this spot. The Raiders have had to deal with their fair share of off-the-field concerns with the Jon Gruden dismissal and now the Henry Ruggs situation. The Raiders have rallied around one another–I’ll take Las Vegas here.
PREDICTION: RAIDERS 24 GIANTS 20 (3 UNITS)
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-1.5) at CAROLINA PANTHERS (O/U 43.5)
Patriots/Panthers have all the makings of an old-fashioned slugfest. Both teams pride themselves on defense–points will be at a premium. We don’t know who will be under center for Carolina at this point. I will take New England to get hot here and defeat the Panthers on the road.
PREDICTION: PATRIOTS 23 PANTHERS 20 (3 UNITS)
BUFFALO BILLS (-11) at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (O/U 50.5)
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will be all over the Jaguars in this one. The Jaguars were slowed by the Seahawks last week, and the Bills’ defense is far superior. The Bills will dominate Jacksonville all afternoon.
PREDICTION: BILLS 34 JAGUARS 13 (3 UNITS)
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at BALTIMORE RAVENS (-5.5) (O/U 49.5)
The Minnesota Vikings looked flat a week ago. Minnesota travels to Baltimore in search of a bounce-back game. I like Baltimore coming off a bye week to have a few new wrinkles. Give me Baltimore.
PREDICTION: RAVENS 27 VIKINGS 20 (3 UNITS)
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-1.5) at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (O/U 50)
The Chargers/Eagles game is moving in the wrong direction. Originally this was a ‘3’ point spread, and now it has dropped to 1.5. I don’t get it. The Eagles are receiving the benefit of beating up a sleepwalking Lions team. The Chargers will eat the Eagles’ defense alive in this one. The Chargers win by two scores.
PREDICTION: CHARGERS 30 EAGLES 17 (3 UNITS)
GREEN BAY PACKERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-7.5) (O/U 48)
What was to be ‘The State Farm Bowl’ will no longer be as Aaron Rodgers will miss this one due to Covid-19. This line has moved dramatically since the news broke from 2.5 to 7.5. The shift signals an opportunity to me. Jordan Love is not Aaron Rodgers. I still believe this Packers team is a nightmare match-up for the Chiefs defense and that the tandem of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon will have their way with the Chiefs front seven. The Packers could certainly still win this game outright–I will certainly take the points.
PREDICTION: CHIEFS 27 PACKERS 24 (1 UNIT)
ARIZONA CARDINALS (-1) at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (O/U 45)
The 49ers are no match for the Cardinals on either side of the ball at the moment. Kyler Murray will be limited all week long, but the expectation is that he will still suit up in this one.
PREDICTION: CARDINALS 27 49ERS 20 (3 UNITS)
TENNESSEE TITANS at LOS ANGELES RAMS (-4.5) (O/U 53)
The Tennessee Titans sans Derrick Henry travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams. This game has shootout potential written all over it. Ryan Tannehill will have to throw the ball more often than he has in previous weeks. The Rams are on a roll. I’ll stick with the home team in this one.
PREDICTION: RAMS 34 TITANS 27 (3 UNITS)
CHICAGO BEARS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (-4.5) (O/U 40.0)
Justin Fields had the best game of his young career last week against the 49ers’ defense. Unfortunately for Bears’ fans, Matt Nagy is set to return this week and will likely ruin the good vibes. The Steelers defense is in a prime-time game in Pittsburgh–there’s no way I’m going any other way in this one.
PREDICTION: STEELERS 27 BEARS 20 (3 UNITS)
I like beer. I like football. Sometimes, both at the same time.
