The Bartender's Week 8 NFL Picks

UPDATE: 10-31-2021, 7:30 PM: Due to Dak Prescott being ruled OUT for tonight’s Dallas/Minnesota game, we recommend the Vikings -3.5 and the Under on 55 for 3 points each.

GREEN BAY PACKERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS (-3.5) (O/U 50.5)

The Packers will be without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard in this one, which takes some of the luster off what was shaping up as a potential NFC Championship preview. The Cardinals have too many offensive weapons for the Pack to slow down.

PREDICTION: CARDINALS 34 PACKERS 24 (3 Units)

CINCINNATI BENGALS (-9.5) at NEW YORK JETS (O/U 42.5)

The New York Jets cannot slow anyone down on defense. They get to host the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals, who are coming off of one of the most impressive performances of the season. Take Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

PREDICTION: BENGALS 30 JETS 17 (3 Units)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-3.5) at DETROIT LIONS (O/U 48)

The Detroit Lions are the league’s only remaining winless team. The Lions have played well enough and certainly, hard enough to win a game or two. The Eagles seem to have regressed and have questions on both sides of the ball. I like the Lions to not only cover the spread but to win their first game of 2021.

PREDICTION: LIONS 24 EAGLES 23 (2 Units)

MIAMI DOLPHINS at BUFFALO BILLS (-13.5) (O/U 49.5)

You could not find two teams going more in the opposite direction of one another. The Buffalo Bills are building momentum to make a possible Super Bowl run. The Miami Dolphins have lost six in a row and are on the verge of imploding. The Bills will dominate this game from start to finish.

PREDICTION: BILLS 41 DOLPHINS 20 (3 Units)

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-3.5) at CHICAGO BEARS (O/U 39.5)

One of the most difficult games on the slate, the Bears host the 49ers in a ‘must win’ game for both teams. Both quarterbacks are struggling, the advantage goes to the veteran Jimmy Garoppolo. I believe the 49ers win the game, but the Bears keep it close enough to cover.

PREDICTION: 49ERS 23 BEARS 20 (1 Unit)

CAROLINA PANTHERS at ATLANTA FALCONS (-3) (O/U 46)

The Panthers have been a team going in reverse for the last month of the season. Atlanta, on the other hand, has found a way to right the ship. Your natural inclination is to go with the Falcons. I’m going to go in the opposite direction here. I like the Panthers’ defense substantially more than the Falcons’ defense, and I believe that is the difference in this one.

PREDICTION: PANTHERS 24 FALCONS 21 (1 Unit)

TENNESSEE TITANS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-1) (O/U 50.5)

The battle for the AFC South will come down to the Titans and the Colts. The Colts need this game more than the Titans. If Tennessee wins this game, they can pull away from the competition. I’m going to take the running game of Derrick Henry and the Titans to get it done on the road.

PREDICTION: TITANS 28 COLTS 24 (3 Units)

LOS ANGELES RAMS (-14) at HOUSTON TEXANS (O/U 47.5)

The Houston Texans are a dumpster fire of the highest order. While they may get Tyrod Taylor back this week, I don’t believe it provides enough time to get in sync offensively. The Rams are on a mission. Take Los Angeles to win this game going away.

PREDICTION: RAMS 38 TEXANS 17 (3 Units)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at CLEVELAND BROWNS (-3.5) (O/U 42.5)

We are not sure who will be suiting up for the injury-riddled Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Pittsburgh, coming off their bye week, should be as healthy as they have been all season long. I’m going to take the Steelers to cover and to get the victory.

PREDICTION: STEELERS 24 BROWNS 20 (1 Unit)

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3.5) (O/U 43.5)

Geno Smith has not inspired any amount of confidence in his starts under center. Meanwhile, you get the sense that rookie Trevor Lawrence is beginning to figure some things out. I will take another road dog to not only cover the spread but to win the game outright.

PREDICTION: JAGUARS 23 SEAHAWKS 20 (2 Units)

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-5.5) (O/U 49)

A contract in styles between the Patriots and the Chargers in this one. The Patriots have played as conservatively as possible with rookie quarterback Mac Jones. The Chargers are letting things loose with second-year quarterback Justin Herbert. The Chargers have too much firepower for the Patriots to keep pace.

PREDICTION: CHARGERS 27 PATRIOTS 20 (3 Units)

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (-4.5) at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (O/U 50)

This spread has made zero sense since it was released. The Saints were very fortunate to escape Monday Night with a victory against a sleepwalking Seattle team. The Saints will not be able to run the ball with any level of effectiveness in this one. Tom Brady wipes the floor with Jameis Winston in this match-up.

PREDICTION: BUCCANEERS 31 SAINTS 17 (3 Units)

WASHINGTON FRANCHISE TEAM at DENVER BRONCOS (-3.5) (O/U 43.5)

The Washington Franchise Team deserved better last Sunday, where too many mental errors cost them a shot at the Green Bay Packers. The Denver Broncos cannot seem to develop any level of consistency. I believe the wrong team is the favorite in this one.

PREDICTION: FRANCHISE TEAM 21 BRONCOS 20 (2 Units)

DALLAS COWBOYS (-1.5) at MINNESOTA VIKINGS (O/U 55)

The Cowboys/Vikings tilt should be one of the best games of the weekend. This game feels like a coin-flip, and the spread reflects it. I cannot shake the fact that it feels as if the Cowboys’ defense is taking a step in the right direction and improving while the Vikings’ defense remains in a rut. I will take Dallas ever so slightly to pull out a victory on the road.

PREDICTION: COWBOYS 34 VIKINGS 31 (1 Unit)

NEW YORK GIANTS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-9.5) (O/U 52)

I cannot fathom the Kansas City Chiefs not finding a way to put this Giants’ team away early in this contest. The Chiefs need to get things right in a hurry, and I believe Monday Night is the first step in the right direction. The Chiefs win going away.

PREDICTION: CHIEFS 31 GIANTS 17 (3 Units)
