NHL DFS Tournament Breakdown For DraftKings and FanDuel - 12:8:2021

Since we had a ten-gamer yesterday, we’re down to four games in the NHL today, which means an easier slate to digest. We’ll also have to get a little more off-the-board in large-field tournaments.

Top Stacks – Overall

Colorado 1 – DraftKings: $24,400 – FanDuel: $27,000

Nathan MacKinnon – Mikko Rantanen – Gabriel Landeskog

With the big three of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Gabriel Landeskog skating together on Colorado’s first line, it will be hard to get away from them on just about any slate. Let alone a four-game affair. They are on the road and face a tough Rangers defense, but they are still the top overall stack on the slate based on their immense upside.

Boston 1 – DraftKings: $22,700 – FanDuel: $26,300

Patrice Bergeron – David Pastrnak – Brad Marchand

Right there with Colorado 1 is Boston 1 on this slate. Brad Marchand appears poised to return from his three-game slew-footing suspension, and Boston 1 is back to full strength. They also get a tough matchup against Vancouver. Still, we are banking on talent here on a short slate where these are the most elite lines by a considerable margin.

Top Stack – Value

New Jersey 1 – DraftKings: $14,300 – FanDuel: $14,500

Jesper Bratt – Nico Hischier – Pavel Zacha

While Boston 1 and Colorado 1 get tough matchups, New Jersey faces off against a scuffling Philadelphia team at home that has been getting torched on the ice. While New Jersey 1 is not a great line, this price is meager, and we are banking on the matchup here. You can also pair them with the top defenseman on the slate in Dougie Hamilton.

Top Plays – Defenseman

Ceiling:

Dougie Hamilton – DraftKings: $7,700 – FanDuel: $7,300

Cale Makar – DraftKings: $7,300 – FanDuel: $7,100

Adam Fox – DraftKings: $6,700 – FanDuel: $7,200

Alex Pietrangelo – DraftKings: $6,500 – FanDuel: $6,600

DraftKings Value:

Esa Lindell: $3,600

Travis Hamonic: $3,000

Mike Reilly: $2,800

Keith Yandle: $2,700

FanDuel Value:

Ivan Provorov: $4,600

Keith Yandle: $4,200

Travis Hamonic: $3,900

Matt Grzelcyk: $3,800

Top Plays – Goalie

Jeremy Swayman – DraftKings: $8,200 – FanDuel: $8,400

Robin Lehner – DraftKings: $7,800 – FanDuel: $7,900

Mackenzie Blackwood – DraftKings: $8,000 – FanDuel: $7,100

Tournament Stack Pivots: DraftKings

COL1 and BOS1, while owned, are actually giving us decent leverage considering their probability of success today. If you want something a little more off-the-board, you might look to DAL1, NJ2, or VAN1.

Tournament Stack Pivots: FanDuel

We’re getting decent FanDuel leverage on COL1 and BOS1 as well. I’d add VGK1 to the mix at their FD ownership. COL2, PHI3, VAN3, and DAL1 are ways to get a bit different here.
