With 10 games on deck for today’s NHL slate, the number of options could be challenging to sort through. Here I will give you an easy breakdown of some of the absolute best plays in the NHL for today.
Top Stacks – Overall
Colorado 1 – DraftKings: $24,200 – FanDuel: $26,200
Nathan MacKinnon – Mikko Rantanen – Gabriel Landeskog
With Nathan MacKinnon healthy and back in the fold, Colorado 1 will be a top option anytime they are on the slate. You have to pay a hefty price tag for the full correlated line, but this only lowers ownership and makes them an even better play. Montreal leads the league in goals allowed, which makes this a smash spot of epic proportions. All systems go on COL1 tonight.
Washington 1 – DraftKings: $20,600 – FanDuel: $22,100
Alex Ovechkin – Evgeny Kuznetsov – Aliaksei Protas
Here we have another elite line in a great spot, with Washington 1 going up against an attackable Chicago squad. Alex Ovechkin is an absolute beast and can easily break any slate and take his line-mates with him. Complete PP1 correlation and a great defenseman in John Carlson to go with them are added benefits. Fire up WAS1 with confidence tonight.
Carolina 1 – DraftKings: $18,000 – FanDuel: $22,100
Sebastian Aho – Andrei Svechnikov – Martin Necas
Carolina 1 gets a juicy home matchup against a notoriously attackable Ottawa Senators squad tonight and is perfectly poised for a big DFS performance. They are fully correlated on the power play 1, and Ottawa has also struggled against the power play. An added DraftKings benefit: they come at a considerable discount compared to other top lines like Colorado 1 and Washington 1.
Top Stack – DraftKings Value
Dallas 1 – $14,700
Roope Hintz – Jason Robertson – Joe Pavelski
It is quite the bargain any time you can get an even-strength line 1 with full power play 1 correlation at this kind of price on DraftKings. It enables you to pay up for your other stack and/or defensemen. This Columbus team is not a matchup to shy away from, and Dallas is playing at home.
Top Stack – FanDuel Value
Montreal 1 – $13,600
Tyler Toffoli – Christian Dvorak – Josh Anderson
Yes, Montreal has not been the best this year, but that is also why their top line is so cheap, and we are looking for value. This year, Colorado has been a decent matchup for opposing offenses despite being a great offensive team themselves. The Canadiens get the added benefit of playing at home here. It isn’t pretty, but you can’t help but look at Montreal here for value.
Top Plays – Defenseman
Ceiling:
Dougie Hamilton – DraftKings: $7,900 – FanDuel: $7,100
Roman Josi – DraftKings: $7,800 – FanDuel: $7,100

Aaron Ekblad – DraftKings: $7,300 – FanDuel: $6,600
John Carlson – DraftKings: $6,400 – FanDuel: $6,600
DraftKings Value:
MacKenzie Weegar: $5,200
Ryan McDonagh: $3,700
Esa Lindell: $3,600
Brady Skjei: $3,200
David Savard: $2,600
FanDuel Value:
MacKenzie Weegar: $4,900
Matt Dumba: $4,600
Jonas Brodin: $4,200
Noah Dobson: $4,100
Jeff Petry: $3,800
Top Plays – Goalie
Sergei Bobrovsky – DraftKings: $8,600 – FanDuel: $8,500
Antti Raanta – DraftKings: $8,500 – FanDuel: $7,900
Jake Oettinger – DraftKings: $8,000 – FanDuel: $7,300
Jacob Markstrom- DraftKings: $7,200 – FanDuel: $8,400
Tournament Stack Pivots: DraftKings
As is often the case in NHL DFS, some of the most obvious and best stacks offer positive leverage. This is because they are expensive and make it challenging to construct the rest of your lineup. COL1, BOS1, CGY1, WAS1, and CAR1 all qualify today. NSH1, MIN1, and LA1 could be considered if you want something really off the board and low-owned.
Tournament Stack Pivots: FanDuel
It is a similar situation on FanDuel where you are getting good leverage and all the best stacks mentioned above. Some reasonably high success probability but very low-owned pivots include OTT1, LA1, and SJ1.
