The NHL is back after what felt like a long layover due to a COVID-extended Christmas break. We don’t have the sizeable slate initially scheduled for Monday, but we’ve got NHL hockey, and that is what matters. Let’s dig into this three-gamer.
Top Stacks – Overall
San Jose 1 – DraftKings: $16,900 – FanDuel: $19,800
Timo Meier – Logan Couture – Alexander Barabanov
San Jose’s top line comes at a nice discount tonight on a three-game slate facing a rough Arizona team. They skate on home ice, and you have a couple of solid defensemen you can pair with them in Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns. I wouldn’t overthink it here.
Vegas 1 – DraftKings: $21,100 – FanDuel: $24,800
Max Pacioretty – Mark Stone – Chandler Stephenson
Vegas 1 is the best line to stack on this slate in a vacuum. SJ1 may be the top option due to matchup, but VGK1 is the most elite line on this three-gamer. They are on the road, and Los Angeles is not a particularly fantastic matchup, but we don’t have a lot of options here, and Vegas’ top line is in play on any slate.
Tampa Bay 1 – DraftKings: $16,200 – FanDuel: $17,300
Steven Stamkos – Ondrej Palat – Taylor Raddysh
Tampa Bay’s top line offers us considerable savings from Vegas 1. They get a tasty home matchup against a highly attackable Montreal squad. Raddysh is not the best piece but does considerably lower the line cost. You can also consider leaving him off your stack and running a two-man of Stamkos/Palat.
Top Stacks – DraftKings Value
Montreal 1 – $11,900
Nick Suzuki – Brendan Gallagher – Jonathan Drouin
Montreal’s line 1 is nothing special, but they are a top line for only $11,900 on DraftKings. We don’t have many options here, especially if we want to pay for Vegas 1. They will immediately stand out as the most viable value we have and should be popular today.
Top Stacks – FanDuel Value
Los Angeles 1 – $17,100
Anze Kopitar – Alex Iafallo – Adrian Kempe
While Los Angeles 1 is not incredibly cheap, they offer significant savings over some other viable lines on FanDuel. While Vegas is a great offensive team, they have been attackable on the defensive end, and LA skates on home ice.

Tournament Stack Pivots: DraftKings
Because they are expensive and cheaper viable options are available, we shouldn’t see overwhelming ownership on Vegas 1. This makes them one of the best tournament stacks today. I’d also look to VGK2, MON2, TB3, and ARI1.
Tournament Stack Pivots: FanDuel
Just like on DraftKings, VGK1 and VGK2 are great tournament stacks tonight. I’d also consider ARI1/ARI2 and SJ2 for low-ownership options with solid viability on this slate.
