NHL DFS: Top Stacks, Plays, And Leverage For DraftKings And FanDuel - 1/6/2022

After yesterday’s two-game slate in the NHL, we have a complete 11-game offering today. It is nice to have a sizable NHL slate for a change after health protocols altered the season. Let’s get into the best DFS plays without further ado.

Top Stacks – Overall

Colorado 1 – DraftKings: $25,000 – FanDuel: $28,200

Nathan MacKinnon – Mikko Rantanen – Gabriel Landeskog

The boys are back in town, and the classic top line of MacKinnon/Rantanen/Landeskog is together and ready to wreak havoc upon the NHL. They are costly, but it doesn’t get much better when you get these guys together. The matchup against Winnipeg is not ideal, but we are banking on talent here. Don’t overthink it with this one.

Pittsburgh 1 – DraftKings: $21,000 – FanDuel: $23,500

Sidney Crosby – Jake Guentzel – Bryan Rust

With Guentzel and Crosby reunited, this Penguins top line will be something to be reckoned with for the rest of the season, barring injury or separation. They do skate on the road tonight, but the matchup against a porous Philadelphia squad is ever juicy and ripe for the attacking. Fire them up, and don’t look back.

San Jose 1 – DraftKings: $18,000 – FanDuel: $20,800

Timo Meier – Tomas Hertl – Jonathan Dahlen

San Jose’s top line is not as elite as some on this slate. Still, they go up against a highly beatable Buffalo team and come at a bit of a discount over some of the better lines this evening. We get full power play one correlation on top of it. SJ1 is one of our top choices for stack success probability and price.

Top Stack – DraftKings Value

New Jersey 1 – $13,500

Jack Hughes – Jesper Bratt – Tomas Tatar

These guys are simply too cheap for a line one with complete power play correlation. There are in a good matchup against a beatable Columbus team and skate on home ice. In the absence of Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Graves stands to pick up some slack and is a natural defensive pairing.

Top Stack – FanDuel Value

Anaheim 2 – $12,500

Richard Rakell – Jakob Silfverberg – Daniel O’Regan

There is nothing particularly remarkable about this line, but they are very cheap. ANH2 also skates at home in a tasty matchup against Detroit. We are going on the spot and the price here, and Rakell/Silfverberg is a proven duo with O’Regan offering salary savings to round out the stack.

Top Plays – Forwards

Ceiling:

David Pastrnak – DraftKings: $7,600 – FanDuel: $7,500

DraftKings Value:

Jakob Silfverberg: $3,600
Noah Gregor: $3,400
Max Comtois: $2,800
Tomas Tatar: $2,500

FanDuel Value:

Richard Rakell: $5,200
Jakob Silfverberg: $4,300

Kris Letang – DraftKings: $6,300 – FanDuel: $6,700
Shea Theodore – DraftKings: $5,700 – FanDuel: $6,100

DraftKings Value:

Ryan Graves: $3,900
Justin Braun: $3,100
Mark Pysyk: $2,500
Cam York: $2,500

FanDuel Value:

Shayne Gostisbehere: $5,400
Ryan Graves: $4,900
John Klingberg: $4,400
Mark Pysyk: $3,800

Top Plays – Goalie

Darcy Kuemper: DraftKings: $8,700 – FanDuel: $7,700
Tristan Jarry: DraftKings: $8,600 – FanDuel: $8,400
Andrei Vasilevskiy: DraftKings: $8,300 – FanDuel: $8,600
Juuse Saros: DraftKings: $7,700 – FanDuel: $8,000

Tournament Stack Pivots – DraftKings

COL1, PIT1, MIN1, DAL1, CGY1, and BOS1 are all good stacks if we are looking for some leverage against the field. Some of these are among the top options on the night, but price considerations will keep full stack ownership down.

Tournament Stack Pivots – FanDuel

Even though Colorado 1 is almost inarguably the top line of the night, we should see relatively low ownership due to the extremely high price. Other places we can look for leverage: CGY1, PIT1, MIN1, SJ1, and NSH1.
