NHL Best Bets, 11-24-21

Many sports fans are preparing for Thanksgiving Weekend with a full slate of College Football and NFL games. However, the night before Thanksgiving is a big night in the NHL with 14 games scheduled. For hockey fans and even casual sports fans, the full slate of games leaves a lot of intriguing matchups and great bets in the process with will hopefully lead to profitable payouts for bettors.

Winnipeg Jets (-130) Vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Jets stat line9 wins in 18 games3.00 goals per game2.56 goals against per game
Blue Jackets stat line10 wins in 16 games3.44 goals per game3.19 goals against per game

The Blue Jackets have played well recently and host the Jets in a great game between two talented teams. The Jets, however, should control this game with favorable matchups on both ends of the ice. The Jets are one of the best offensive zone passing teams in the NHL and will pile on the goals with Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Andrew Copp finding skaters near the net and open shots in the offensive zone against a Blue Jackets defense that has struggled this season. Moreover, the Jets will find open ice from the point and defensemen Neal Pionk and Josh Morrisey should help open up the offense with great shots at the blue line.

On the defensive end of the ice, the Jets will look to limit the Blue Jackets on the odd-man rush with Neal Pionk and Logan Stanley, in particular, controlling the blue line and removing skaters from the puck. The rest of the defensive unit meanwhile will also create turnovers in the defensive zone and limit shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to have a great game in the net.

The Jets will win the game with great play on both ends of the ice.

Vegas Golden Knights (+105) Vs. Nashville Predators

Golden Knights stat line11 wins in 19 games3.05 goals per game3.11 goals against per game
Predators stat line10 wins in 18 games2.72 goals per game2.78 goals against per game

The Golden Knights face a promising Predators team but look to step up on both ends of the ice in this game. The Golden Knights will pile on the goals with Jonathan Marchessault, Chandler Stephenson, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and establishing an offensive zone presence throughout the game. The Predators are led by their defense and as a result, the Golden Knights will also look for defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Shea Theodore to open up the offense from the point and fire some shots through traffic on the net.

The Golden Knights will win the game and provide great odds in the process as road Underdogs.

Los Angeles Kings (+130) Vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Kings stat line8 wins in 18 games2.56 goals per game2.56 goals against per game
Maple Leafs’ stat line13 wins in 20 games2.55 goals per game2.25 goals against per game

The Maple Leafs travel to the West Coast to face the Kings. While the Maple Leafs have been a great team this season, the Kings can exploit mismatches with a talented roster. The Kings will look to find the back of the net a few times with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe creating scoring opportunities in the offensive zone while Phillip Danault leads the backend of the Kings forward unit to keep the pressure on the Maple Leafs’ defense. Likewise, the Kings will test Jack Campbell with quick shots on the odd-man rush while also catching the goaltender out of position with patient shots on the goal.

Defensively, the Kings should eliminate and potentially shut out the top-heavy Maple Leafs’ offense. Tobias Bjornfot, Michael Anderson, and Matt Roy should create turnovers in the neutral zone and defensive zone alike while also limiting shots on the net. Additionally, Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick will look to make the initial save throughout the game against the Maple Leafs forwards, leaving little to no second-chance scoring opportunities.

The Kings will win the game and pull off the upset at home.

Over 5.5 – Carolina Hurricanes Vs. Seattle Kraken

Hurricanes stat line14 wins in 17 games3.35 goals per game2.00 goals against per game
Kraken stat line5 wins in 18 games 2.89 goals per game3.78 goals against per game

The Kraken offense has struggled this season and it’s easy to think that the upcoming game will be a low-scoring one. However, both offenses look to find the back of the net throughout the game with both forward units leading the way. The Kraken will look to find a few goals with Jordan Eberle, Brandon Tanev, and Jared McCann carrying the puck into the offensive zone and finding quick scoring opportunities on the wing. the Hurricanes meanwhile have arguably the deepest forward unit in the NHL and will pile on the goals against the Kraken with Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, and the rest of the forward unit crashing the net and finding open shots off of cross-ice passes while defensemen Ian Cole and Jaccob Slavin finds shots through traffic from the point.

The Over will cover with both offenses stepping up.

Over 6 – Colorado Avalanche Vs. Anaheim Ducks

Avalanche stat line9 wins in 15 games4.00 goals per game3.27 goals against per game
Ducks stat line10 wins in 19 games3.32 goals per game2.63 goals against per game

This game features two of the best offenses in the NHL with the Avalanche particularly, leading the league in goals per game. In the upcoming game, the Ducks will look to take advantage of an Avalanche defense that has struggled this season with Troy Terry, Trevor Zegras, and the rest of the forward unit creating quick scoring chances on the odd-man rush while also finding plenty of open shots in the offensive zone. Moreover, the Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk is having a great season on the offensive end of the ice and should open up the Ducks offense at the blue line.

The Avalanche meanwhile, will pile on the goals and run up the score with incredible puck movement in the offensive zone. Mikko Rantanen, Gabriel Landeskog, JT Compher, and the rest of the forward unit will find open skaters on great passes to allow for quick shots on the net. In addition, Cale Makar, Bowen Byram, and Devon Toews are some of the best scoring defensemen in the game and will help pile on the goals with strong play from the point.

The Over will cover with both offenses controlling this game.
