Another day, another slate in the NBA, and another chance to play for a big payday on FanDuel and DK! Here’s a slate breakdown as of what we know this morning.
MIL (109.75) @ TOR (105.25)
The Buccs are a team that doesn’t offer much value for DFS when Giannis is healthy. He dominates the usage too much for fellow key pieces like Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday to tend to pay off their price tags. Bobby Portis and Grayson Allen are the other guys with some fantasy upside. On DraftKings, no one is priced that well, but of course, you can always play Giannis. On FanDuel, this is a rare instance where an expensive high-end player is actually priced as a solid points-per-dollar value for their projection with Giannis at $11,000. He’s a rare DFS asset that is someone you’d like to get in your lineup basically every night.
Gary Trent Jr. is currently questionable for Toronto but projected in. if he does not play, we’ll get more usage for Raptors across the board. A guy like Svi Mykhailiuk becomes a good play. With Trent in, we’re mostly looking at Precious Achiuwa and Trent himself on DraftKings for value. On FanDuel, the best option is Fred VanVleet at $8,000. Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes should play a good number of minutes. Either is playable on either DFS platform, but neither is a great deal here.
CHI (105.75) @ NYK (103.75)
We’re generally not getting much good value in Chicago now that Nikola Vucevic is healthy. They have a pretty stacked starting five with many mouths to feed. Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Lonzo Ball are all excellent players with the potential for big games. None are mispriced here on either DFS site, though. Javonte Green could be a decent value on DK and FD, and Alex Caruso looks half decent for value at his DK price of $5,200.
RJ Barrett is listed as questionable for the Knicks, and if he does not suit up, we will have some more minutes and usage to go around. Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley would likely be the primary beneficiaries. Derrick Rose, Mitchell Robinson, and Alec Burks are currently looking like good values on DraftKings, even with Barrett projected in. Immanuel Quickley is our best value on FanDuel, while Rose looks okay at his FD price. Julius Randle is always an option on both sites for his upside, but there isn’t any great pricing here.
OKC (101.75) @ MEM (111.25)
With Josh Giddey out for OKC, Tre Mann is likely to draw another start and becomes a viable value piece on both sites, particularly DraftKings. James Robinson-Earl and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are also good plays at their DK prices, as is SGA on FD. Luguentz Dort, and to a lesser extent Darius Bazley, is the only other Thunder getting any good minutes. But neither stand out today at their prices on either DK or FD.
This is a good game for value in DFS, with Memphis also having some good pieces. Tyus Jones continues to offer us value across sites with Ja Morant out. Desmond Bane is also looking like a good play on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Steven Adams enters the fray on DraftKings, while Dillon Brooks & Jaren Jackson grade out decently at their respective FanDuel prices.
DET (98.5) @ PHX (110.5)
This could be a rough one for the Pistons, with a total currently standing under 100 against a tough Phoenix team. There aren’t any great plays here on DraftKings. If you were going to play someone, it would likely be Saddiq Bey, Cade Cunningham, Jerami Grant, or Isaiah Stewart. None are fantastic values, but none are terrible. On FanDuel, Cunningham and Bey look better at their respective prices, and Isaiah Stewart is borderline playable. I’d be most inclined to play a Piston other than Cunningham or Bey on FanDuel as a run-back to a key Phoenix player since we’d be hoping for this game to stay close and not blow out.
.
Things get juicy here with Devin Booker out with a hamstring injury. The Suns’ big two of Booker/Paul have been very healthy all year, so we haven’t seen much of this. Chris Paul obviously gets a boost without Booker, becoming the main guy for the Suns. We’ll also get significant value from Landry Shamet, Cameron Payne, and Jae Crowder on DraftKings. Cameron Johnson is another guy who could benefit, and DeAndre Ayton and Mikal Bridges could also get more usage. Shamet, Payne, Paul, and Johnson are the best FanDuel pricing plays.
SAS (105.5) @ POR (110.5)
On DraftKings, we don’t have any glaring value here for San Antonio. However, Lonnie Walker IV could offer us a little at his $3,400 price if he gets some decent run. Keldon Johnson and Jakob Poeltl are right on the cusp of being decent DK plays, Poeltl looks a little better on FanDuel, and Johnson is a decent close-to-value option. Dejounte Murray is the big star for San Antonio and is always in play. Still, there isn’t any real value in his current price based on median projection. He can always pay off if he hits his ceiling.
If Norman Powell sits tonight, Larry Nance and Ben McLemore stand to benefit. There will be more opportunity, in general, to go around for Portland. With Damian Lillard already out, there’s a ton of value for Portland regardless of Powell’s status. Powell (if he plays), Anfernee Simons, CJ McCollum, Jusuf Nurkic, and Larry Nance Jr. are all excellent value plays on DraftKings. All of these guys other than Larry Nance Jr. look good on FanDuel as well. This is one of the best teams to target today for value in DFS, with Lillard being out.
