NBA DFS First Look For DraftKings And FanDuel – 11/29/2021

NBA DFS First Look For DraftKings And FanDuel - 11/29/2021

We have a solid nine-game NBA DFS slate tonight in the Association. Let’s dig in and see what we’ve got to work with.

ORL (96) PHI (110)

There isn’t anything to love here on FanDuel for Orlando with current pricing. Wendell Carter Jr. Has been priced up and is no longer a smash play as he’s been of late. He would become more viable if fellow big Mo Bamba (questionable) was to sit today. As long as Cole Anthony remains out, there is additional value in Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner at the guard position. Still, their prices exclude them from being great plays on FanDuel. Suggs, Carter, and Wagner grade out better as value plays at their DraftKings prices, but nothing exceptional.

With Joel Embiid back in the fray for Philly, we aren’t getting any great plays outside of Tobias Harris, who is a bit too cheap on both sites at $7,600. Embiid himself is always a guy with tons of upside but not an excellent points-per-dollar play tonight. I’d still consider him in tournaments.

DEN (100.25) @ MIA (107.75)

Nikola Jokic is currently questionable, as is Bones Hyland. There is no real value on Denver at their current prices with Jokic on the court. Hyland himself does grade out as a decent fringe play at just $3000, but that is it. If Jokic sits, we get many options in Will Barton, Aaron Gordon, Monte Morris, and Jeff/JaMychal Green. Jokic is always in play, although not an excellent points-per-dollar consideration at his price, and Miami does not play at a good pace for DFS production.

There aren’t any good plays on Miami outside of P.J. Tucker for value on DraftKings at just $3,500. Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are currently questionable. If either sits out, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, and Duncan Robinson become better plays. This is generally not a great game to target unless injury news opens things up.

OKC (106.25) @ HOU (108.75)

With OKC, we are getting into some real value, especially on DraftKings. Josh Giddey, Darius Bazley, Luguentz Dort, James Robinson-Earl, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are good DK plays. All but Robinson-Earl look good on FanDuel, although SGA’s price is not quite as appealing.

Houston is offering us a lot of value too, and this looks like a good game to target for DFS purposes. Jalen Green being out has really opened things up for the Rockets. Jae’sean Tate, Kevin Porter Jr., and Garrison Mathews are all looking good on both sites. Christian Wood enters the mix at his FD price of $7,400. He’s a bit too expensive on DraftKings at $8,200.

CHA (109.25) @ CHI (114.75)

Charlotte has too many mouths to feed, although P.J. Washington is a good play at his price of $4,900 on FanDuel. He hasn’t been priced up enough yet since re-entering the rotation. Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, LaMelo Ball, and Terry Rozier are all players who can have massive DFS games on any night. Still, at their current prices, none stand out as great plays against the Bulls tonight.

We have a very similar situation in Chicago with Nikola Vucevic healthy again. Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Lonzo Ball compete for usage, and none are drastically mispriced on either site. The prices on DeRozan, LaVine, and Caruso are halfway reasonable on DraftKings. Bulls pricing is better on FanDuel, and DeRozan and LaVine are actually pretty good plays. At the same time, Vucevic/Ball/Caruso border on playable as well. Particularly Vucevic at $7,600.

IND (107) @ MIN (110)

Caris LeVert, Myles Turner, Justin Holiday, and Malcolm Brogdon are our targets for the Pacers on DraftKings. Domantas Sabonis always has upside, but his price is not great today. It is mostly just LeVert and Brogdon on FanDuel based on pricing. Brogdon continues to be a bit too cheap on both sites. As LeVert’s minutes creep up, he’s going to be an insane value one of these days if he isn’t priced up soon. Even at a projection of just over 30 minutes, he looks great today.

On DraftKings, no one is really standing out on Minnesota. Only Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell, and Karl-Anthony Towns generally play 30+ minutes, and none are mispriced. The pricing on KAT and Russell is better on FanDuel. Towns, in particular, is an excellent play today on FD at just $8,800. He’s priced down based on less than inspiring fantasy upside this season, but we know what he can do at his best.

CLE (102) @ DAL (108.5)

Lauri Markkanen remains too cheap on FanDuel at $5,600, considering that he should play 30+ minutes at this point. No other Cavalier is a good value on either DFS site. With their 102 total, at their current prices, this is essentially a spot to avoid.

For Dallas, Maxi Kleber is really standing out on both sides as a value play. On DK in particular at just $4,000. He should approach 30 minutes of playing time tonight. Luka Doncic is priced well enough to offer us decent value on the higher-end on DK and FD alike. You can always play Kristaps Porzingis, but his price isn’t great. Jalen Brunson is questionable, and if he does not play, Tim Hardaway Jr. gets a bit of a bump. Doncic may also become an even better play.

WAS (109) @ SAS (106)

Outside of Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma, minutes are a bit spread out on Washington. Deni Avdija, Daniel Gafford, and Spencer Dinwiddie are decent plays at their prices on DraftKings. On FanDuel, it’s mostly just Gafford. Bradley Beal is, of course, a stud player but does not grade out as a great to play at his price tonight.

For the Spurs, Jakob Poeltl and Keldon Johnson are decidedly too cheap tonight on DraftKings. Dejounte Murray and Derrick White are decent plays as well. Particularly Murray. His role has been absolutely insane this year. At $9,600, he’s actually a pretty good value for his projection on tonight’s slate. It is basically the same deal on FanDuel except that Derrick White is a better play at $5,700, and Murray is a bit too expensive to grade out well despite his upside. White’s price has really come down after a bad start to the season, and he’s beginning to show signs of life of late.

POR (107.75) @ UTA (115.25)

Norman Powell will be out for Portland tonight, opening up some great plays for DFS. Nassir Little, Anfernee Simons, Larry Nance Jr., Robert Covington, and CJ McCollum look nice on DK tonight. Little and Nance really stand out. We will, however, have to double-check the starting lineup. Little is currently expected to start and would likely get around 30 minutes at just $3,500. On FanDuel, Little and Simons are the value plays. McCollum looks good, and Damian Lillard is really too cheap at $8,600 and firmly in play.

Bojan Bogdanovic and Donovan Mitchell are the best plays for Utah tonight, considering their pricing on both sites. While Utah comes with a very high total tonight and is a potent offensive team, production is pretty spread out, capping DFS upside at their current prices.

NOP (101.75) @ LAC (108.75)

There is some excellent value for the Pelicans tonight on DraftKings with Herbert Jones, Josh Hart, and Devonte’ Graham. Brandon Ingram is also a bit too cheap for the upside we know he has at $7,500. Since he is coming off of injury, it makes sense to give him some time to get right. It wouldn’t be prudent to simply assume he has taken a step backward based on his lackluster performance thus far this season. Nothing stands out for New Orleans on FanDuel pricing-wise.

Paul George and Reggie Jackson are the plays on both sites for the Clippers. George really pops at his price on FanDuel, and Jackson looks better on DK. No other Clipper is projected for more than 30 minutes, making all the ancillary pieces undesirable at their prices.
