Analysis

THE PROFESSOR

Put down 24 total bets, 10 of which were player props. The Professor also played seven game totals, five point spreads, a moneyline bet and a two-team teaser. His player props went 3-7. Wins: Jonathan Taylor over 67.5 yards rushing (70); A.J. Brown and Ja’Marr Chase anytime touchdown scorer. Losses: Derrick Henry over 103.5 yards rushing (68); James Robinson over 69.5 yards rushing (22); Marvin Jones Jr. and Deebo Samuel anytime TD scorer; Josh Allen over 2.5 touchdowns passing (2); Kyle Pitts over 61.5 yards receiving (13); Justin Herbert most yards passing on Sunday (223, Jets backup QB Mike White had 405).

The Professor took four unders and five overs on total points across seven Sunday games, finishing 5-2 overall. Wins: Cowboys-Vikings under 55 points (36); Titans-Colts over 51 points (65); Steelers-Browns under 42 points (25); Bengals-Jets over 42.5 points (65); Panthers-Falcons under 45.5 points (32). Losses: Packers-Cardinals over 50 points (45); Buccaneers-Saints under 50 points (63).

Rounding out The Professor’s Week 8 bets was the Jaguars moneyline +155, losing 31-7 at Seattle, and a two-team teaser of Vikings +8.5 and Titans +7.5. Winner-winner.

THE BARTENDER

Played the spread and total on all 15 games in Week 8 and threw in two player prop bets on Thursday night. The Bartender took Aaron Rodgers over 255.5 yards passing and James Conner over 45.5 yards rushing. He lost both with Rodgers throwing for 184 and and Conner rushing for 22.

The Bartender got down on eight favorites and seven underdogs for his full Week 8 slate of betting the spread. The Bills and Rams covered at 13.5 and 14 points, respectively. His plays on the Cardinals (-3.5), Bengals (-9.5), Chargers (-4), Buccaneers (-4.5) and Vikings (-3.5) all lost outright as favorites. Chiefs -9.5 didn’t hit.

His seven underdog bets went 3-4. The Panthers (+3), Titans (+2.5) Steelers (+3.5) all won outright. The Lions +3.5 were blown out, 44-6. Bears +4 lost 33-22, Jaguars +3.5 lost 31-7 and Football Team +3.5 lost 17-10.

The Bartender finished his 15 over/under bets at 8-7 with the Giants-Chiefs going under 52 points to pull his bets on totals over .500.
