3 College Football 2021 -- Week One -- Betting Picks!

As the fall chill moves in and the leaves begin to fall from the trees, it can only mean one thing. College Football is BACK! Early season games are tricky given the lack of information at our disposal, so proceed with caution. With a teaser slate ahead this weekend, we provide you with a few winners to whet your appetite.

Nebraska (-7) at Illinois (O/U 55)

In our first Big Ten matchup of the 2021 season, the Fighting Illini’ host the Cornhuskers. I expect both teams to try to establish the ground game early on to avoid the costly turnovers. I like Adrian Martinez in this spot to provide the explosive plays to turn the tide. Martinez has been through the rigors and feels like the steady hand in this game.

PICKS: Nebraska -7, Under 55

Hawaii at UCLA (-17.5) (O/U 68.5)

Viewers should expect fireworks in this one. Hawaii and UCLA are no strangers to playing in high-scoring affairs. If you’re a fan of offense, this is the one for you. Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be back under center for the Bruins following an up-and-down off-season. I may expect a few hiccups early on as he gets his sea legs under him. Chevan Cordeiro returns for the Rainbow Warriors for some unfinished business as well. I believe Hawaii keeps this game in the two-score range. I will take the road dogs in this spot.

PICKS: Hawaii +17.5, Under 68.5

Connecticut at Fresno State (-27.5) (O/U 62.5)

Connecticut travels to Fresno State with our largest spread of the weekend. I have been singing the praises of Fresno State quarterback Jake Haener in what feels like every article this off-season. On the other side, Connecticut hasn’t even announced its starter as of yet. This game feels like an ambush. I don’t enjoy laying this many points, but I believe the Bulldogs jump all over the Huskies and don’t let off the gas.

PICKS: Fresno State -27.5, Over 62.5
