TNF: Packers at Cardinals

  • SUNDAY – The line opened with the Cardinals favored just over a field goal (-3.5), and no significant early money in either direction moved it off the opening mark. The host Cardinals beat the Texans 31-5 in Week 7 after trailing 5-0. The Packers downed the visiting Football Team, 24-10, in a game that was closer than the final score.
  • MONDAY – Packers No. 1 receiver Davante Adams was placed on the COVID-19 list, putting his availability for Thursday night in doubt. The Cardinals rocketed to a six-point favorite since the news.
  • TUESDAY – More Cardinals money hit their side of the spread, moving to 6.5 points at all eight books.
  • WEDNESDAY – Some buyback, even under seven points, hit the Packers.
  • THURSDAY – BetMGM was the lone book listing 6.5 points as all others were hit by Packers backers, moving the spread to six points an hour before kickoff.

Dolphins at Bills

  • SUNDAY – The Dolphins have been done no favors by schedule makers. Fresh off a trip to London, which usually follows with a bye week, the Fins lost 30-28 on a field goal as time expired hosting the Falcons in Week 7. Now they travel to Buffalo, which is coming off its bye week. The Bills lost at Tennessee, 34-31, on MNF in Week 6. Early money backed the Bills at -13, up to 13.5 points across the market.
  • MONDAY – Bills -13.5 was the mark across the market, yet to hit 14 points.
  • TUESDAY – DraftKings was the only book to move to 14 points.
  • WEDNESDAY – Consistent Bills money took 13.5 points, a half-point under a key number.
  • THURSDAY – The spread moved to 14 points at all books except FanDuel, still offering value on the Bills at -13.5.
  • FRIDAY – FanDuel joined the rest of the books at 14 points. This spread has yet to go through that key number to 14.5.
  • SATURDAY – Line of 14 points held.

Panthers at Falcons

  • SUNDAY – Bookmakers tabbed the Falcons -2.5 hosting the Panthers, just under a key number. In Week 7, the Panthers trailed the Giants 5-3 in East Rutherford, N.J., late into the third quarter and lost 25-3. The Falcons, as mentioned above, beat the Dolphins. The only early action on this game was at DraftKings, taking Falcons money to move to three points. All other books sat at the opener.
  • MONDAY – Falcons -3 was the slight majority across books, with the others listing 2.5 points.
  • TUESDAY – Six of eight books were at three points. Caesars and PointsBet had the spread under a key number at 2.5 points.
  • WEDNESDAY – Falcons just under a key number at 2.5 was still available, albeit scarcely.
  • THURSDAY – Falcons money erased anything under three points as the spread moved to three across the market, and up to 3.5 at FanDuel.
  • FRIDAY – This spread was three points across the board.
  • SATURDAY – Same as Friday.

Eagles at Lions

  • SUNDAY – The Eagles opened laying three points on the road. The Lions put up an early fight in Week 7 and led 19-17 after the third quarter on the road against the Rams, then lost 28-19. The Eagles trailed 30-7 after three quarters in Vegas and lost 33-22. Early money ticked the Eagles to -3.5, while the remaining books held at three points.
  • MONDAY – Early money movement was cornered to BetRivers and on the Eagles, bumping them up to -3.5. All other books remained at three points.
  • TUESDAY – Eagles backers influenced the spread over a key number to 3.5 points, while BetMGM and PointsBet were the only books at three points.
  • WEDNESDAY – Eagles -3.5 was the mark, as the remaining books holding a three points a day earlier moved to 3.5.
  • THURSDAY – Any Lions buyback over a key number of three had yet to hit the market as the consensus spread was 3.5.
  • FRIDAY – The spread again was 3.5 points at all eight of the above-listed books.
  • SATURDAY – Same as Friday.

Titans at Colts

  • SUNDAY – The Titans blew the doors off the Chiefs in Tennessee, 27-3, a week after edging the Bills in primetime. The Colts went into Santa Clara, Calif., with an “atmospheric river” overhead, and beat the 49ers, 30-18. The lone book to list a spread was FOX Bet, tabbing the Colts as a one-point favorite.
  • MONDAY – Colts as a favorite was erased. The Titans were favored by one and 1.5 points. Betfred, which kept this game off the board Sunday night, was two points.
  • TUESDAY – Betfred fell in line at 1.5 points as the spread across the market was in the Titans’ favor at one or 1.5 points.
  • WEDNESDAY – Colts money began to influence this spread back in the direction of the opening favorite, getting the Colts as a short home dog.
  • THURSDAY – The Colts were favored by either 1.5 or two points. Betfred was the market’s high point at 2.5 in favor of Indy.
  • FRIDAY – More Colts money snagged -2.5, pushing those books to three points. The rest still offered 2.5 points.
  • SATURDAY – Colts -2.5 was still available. Other books were at three points.

Rams at Texans

  • SUNDAY – The Rams failed to cover as a double-digit favorite in NFL Week 7 hosting the Lions. The Texans were blown out on the road by the undefeated Cardinals as a double-digit underdog. This spread opened Rams -15 and dropped a half point.
  • MONDAY – Rams -14.5 was the spread across the market except at DraftKings, which took enough Texans money to drop to 14 points, a stagnant number.
  • TUESDAY – BetRivers and Betfred joined DraftKings at 14 points. All other books were at 14.5.
  • WEDNESDAY – Rams backers hit 14 points, moving the spread a half-point over a key number.
  • THURSDAY – Rams -14.5 was the consensus spread.
  • FRIDAY – Waves of Rams money bumped up the spread to a range of 15.5, 16 and 16.5 points, blowing through a key number of 14.
  • SATURDAY – The range of 15.5 to 16.5 was still consistent.

Bengals at Jets

  • SUNDAY – The Bengals thoroughly handled the Ravens in Baltimore and the Jets were railed by the Patriots in Foxborough last week. This spread opened at 9.5 points, just under a key number, and books have gone in different directions. Some went to 10 points but others dropped under the opening number.
  • MONDAY – The Bengals were at a low point of -8.5 points, and upward of 9.5, the opening number, signaling early-week money on the Jets that influenced the spread off a high mark of 10 points.
  • TUESDAY – Bengals backers hammered any spread under 10 points, getting Cincy just under a key number and moved the spread to either 10 or 10.5 points.
  • WEDNESDAY – More Bengals support took them through a key number of 10 to 10.5.
  • THURSDAY – BetRivers was the only sportsbook still offering a 10-point spread as everywhere else sat at 10.5.
  • FRIDAY – Bengals backers weren’t scared off by this spread being over 10 points, moving the number even more toward the road team at 11 and 11.5 points at some places.
  • SATURDAY – BetMGM was the lone book at 10.5 as all others were 11 or 11.5.

Steelers at Browns

  • SUNDAY – The Browns never trailed hosting the Broncos to kick off NFL Week 7, winning by three points with QB Case Keenum at the helm and third-string RB D’Ernest Johnson running wild on the ground. The Steelers were on bye last week. Bookmakers tabbed the Browns as at three-point favorite at opening, where they’ve held except at BetRivers (-3.5).
  • MONDAY – The rest of the market joined BetRivers, moving to a consensus 3.5 with consistent Browns money hammering three points.
  • TUESDAY – Spread held at 3.5 points across the market with no Steelers buyback over a field goal.
  • WEDNESDAY – The line continued to hold at 3.5 points.
  • THURSDAY – Still no movement in either direction off 3.5 points, which was the spread at all eight above-listed sportsbooks.
  • FRIDAY – Movement finally came, and in favor of the Browns to four points. BetMGM was the lone book still at 3.5.
  • SATURDAY – DraftKings moved to 4.5 points while all other books were at four.

  • MONDAY – DraftKings was the lone book dropping to three points. The rest remained at 3.5.
  • TUESDAY – All Tier One books had this spread at 3.5 points. All Tier Two books were at three points.
  • WEDNESDAY – Slight 49ers support at certain books moved the visitors to 3.5 and four points.
  • THURSDAY – The 49ers were favored -4 at all books except FanDuel (3.5).
  • FRIDAY – Same marks held as they were on Thursday.
  • SATURDAY – Four points was the market except at FanDuel at 3.5.

  • FRIDAY – This spread didn’t reach four point or drop to three.
  • SATURDAY – Seahawks money at DraftKings moved the spread to four points. The rest of the market held at 3.5.

Patriots at Chargers

  • SUNDAY – The Patriots served the Jets a fiddy burger in Week 7, winning 54-13. The Chargers were on bye. Add it up and early money backed the Chargers -5.5 for Week 8, moving the spread to six points at some books as others held at the opening number.
  • MONDAY – Chargers -5.5 was the consensus. Patriots money hit +6 hard where available.
  • TUESDAY – No books moved off 5.5 points in either direction.

  • FRIDAY – Some Chargers buyback moved the spread to five points at Betfred. All others remained at the Thursday marks.
  • SATURDAY – Five books listed 4.5 points while the other three were at four.

Football Team at Broncos

  • SUNDAY – The Footballers put up a fight at Lambeau Field, even as the Packers pulled away. The Broncos trailed, and trailed… and trailed against backup Best Case Keenum and the Browns in Week 7. Sportsbooks pegged the Broncos -4 and early money hit the Football Team, moving the spread down mainly to 3.5, and three points at a couple books.
  • MONDAY – Football Team backers hammered any spread over a field goal across the board, rendering this spread at three points.

Buccaneers at Saints

  • SUNDAY – Brady and his Bunch posted 21 first-quarter points against the Bears in Week 7, then added 14 more in the next frame, rolling to a 38-3 victory. The Saints traveled to the Pacific Northwest for Monday Night Football in Seattle. Books opened this game at Bucs -4.5, where it held.
  • MONDAY – The Saints grinded to a 13-10 win through rain, wind and the 12th Man in the PNW on Monday night. This NFL Week 8 spread now is between four, 4.5 and five points in favor of the Bucs in the Bayou.
